FLUX BRANCHING

UCLA A.UD JUMPSTART
Summer 2013

Our prompt was to create a café and canopy space for the courtyard of UCLA's Perloff Hall and to apply a mapping and ordering system that supports our original design idea.

For my project, Flux Branching, I began by surveying the circulations of people through the courtyard and identifying key paths of movement.

A tectonic canopy system that mimics the skeletal pattern of a leaf stretches across the frequented circulation paths. It creates an additional level of circulation.
